ALTIS Wellness is a medical technology company developing advanced
software to analyze surface electromyography (sEMG) data and provide
objective insights into neuromuscular function.

About
Altis Wellness

Mission

To advance neuromuscular care by transforming non-invasive physiological signals into meaningful, objective, and actionable information.

Vision

To establish a new standard for how neuromuscular function is measured, understood, and tracked over time.

Why does it help?

Neuromuscular conditions can cause complex changes in muscle function that are difficult to quantify and track over time. ALTIS Wellness is developing technology designed to use non-invasive sEMG data to provide objective measurements of neuromuscular function, supporting a more quantitative approach to assessment and longitudinal monitoring.

Founder, Taran Sondhu

Taran Sondhu, founder of Altis Wellness and a lifelong athlete and tennis player, suffered a severe lower back injury that brought his active lifestyle to a sudden halt.

At just 18 years old, he underwent the first of several surgeries in hopes of regaining mobility. While the procedure was successful, persistent nerve pain remained, marking the beginning of a long journey of recovery, rehabilitation, and ongoing monitoring.

In his search for better answers, Taran discovered surface electromyography (sEMG), a non-invasive technology that uses electrodes placed on the skin to measure electrical activity produced by muscles. By objectively tracking his own progress, he began to see the potential for applying similar methods to individuals living with neuromuscular conditions.

But interpreting the data wasn’t always straightforward. That challenge sparked an idea: create a simple, easy-to-understand scoring system (paten pending) that could transform complex sEMG data into meaningful insights and potentially help track changes associated with neuromuscular disease over time.

This discovery provides real-time feedback on how specific interventions can improve treatment plans, giving doctors key insights to better manage patient care.
